Quack,
So I'm very happy to come to DebConf for the first time. Seems some of
you thought about doing a talk/workshop/BoF, so why not use the brand
new ML to discuss about it.
So I'm a DD working at Red Hat in the OSAS (Opensource and Standards)
Infra team. We are very interested in Open Infra, automation,
reproducible deployment… and other DevOps topics.
We could explain Open Infra, its goodness, and give concrete examples (I
see quite a lot to pick from on the website). I think we could also talk
about Debian infra a bit, as it was really hidden with almost no
communication at all when I joined in 2005, and even if everything does
not seem to be publicly available, many things from DSA and all the
tooling, buildd… is now in the open (even if not always properly
documented and advertised). People from DSA and Alioth teams would
probably know more, but we could ask them some details. It would be nice
to have concrete examples of how contributions and team-staffing have
evolved since things opened.
So If this were to happen, I'll be happy to contribute. Let's be honest
that I have no prior experience organizing such kind of event, so it
would be more giving a hand. Also I'm afraid talking publicly; this may
improve in the future but only one step at a time.
